1. Introduction
The Amora application, developed by Ameer Mustafa, respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy clearly and transparently explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, with whom we share it, how long we keep it, and what your rights are.
This policy complies with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Huawei AppGallery and Google Play policies.
2. Data we collect
- Registration data: name, email, password (bcrypt-encrypted), date of birth.
- Profile data: gender, search preferences, photos, bio, occupation, education, religion, interests, language, height.
- Location: approximate city and GPS coordinates, used only to calculate distance between users (with your explicit permission).
- Usage data: likes, Amora Stars, matches, sent messages, swipe history.
- Technical data: device type and model, OS, app version, push notification token, anonymised IP address.
- Verification data: identity document and selfie (only if you opt in, retained only until review is complete).
- Payment data: processed exclusively by Stripe (web), Google Play Billing (Android via Play Store), or Huawei IAP (Android via AppGallery). We never store card numbers.
3. How we use your data
- Run the match and discovery service.
- Calculate distance between you and other users.
- Send notifications about new likes, Amora Stars, matches and messages.
- Process Amora Premium subscription payments.
- Manually verify profiles to reduce fake accounts.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, inappropriate behaviour and violations of the Terms of Service.
- Communicate important service updates.
4. Permissions the app requests
- Location: to calculate distance to other users (optional, can be disabled in settings).
- Camera / Gallery: to upload profile photos and verification selfie.
- Notifications: to alert you about matches and messages.
- Internet: required for all online features.
5. Data sharing
Amora does not sell your personal data. We share only with:
- Other users: name, photos, age, city, bio, and distance (public profile).
- Stripe: web payment processing.
- Google Play Billing: Play Store payments.
- Huawei IAP: AppGallery payments.
- Firebase (Google): push notifications on devices with Google Services.
- Huawei Push Kit: push notifications on Huawei devices without Google Services.
- Resend: transactional emails (verification, password recovery).
- Public authorities: when required by court order or legal obligation.
6. Storage and security
Your data is stored on secure servers with at-rest encryption (MongoDB) and in-transit encryption (TLS/HTTPS). Passwords are bcrypt-hashed. We perform regular backups and security audits.
7. Your rights (LGPD/GDPR)
You may at any time:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data from the Profile screen.
- Request data portability (email the DPO).
- Delete your account and all associated data in Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate for regular users. Verified accounts retain a minimal compliance record for 2 years; banned accounts retain a permanent record, as required by law.
- Revoke notification and location consent in your device settings.
8. Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Upon deletion we immediately remove: profile, photos, messages, swipes, matches, linked devices and verification requests. Financial records may be retained for up to 5 years to comply with tax obligations.
9. Children and minors
Amora is exclusively for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we identify a minor's account, it will be deleted immediately and the data removed.
10. Cookies and analytics
We use local storage (localStorage) only for language, theme and session preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics tools that collect personal data.
11. International transfers
Your data may be processed on servers outside Brazil/EU. We ensure adequate levels of protection as required by LGPD and GDPR.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be announced via email and/or in-app notification, with 30 days' notice where possible.
